Visit to Church

As part of our RE we have been thinking about Families and Celebrations. We have been learning about the different celebrations that happen at Church such as weddings and baptisms. We completed a treasure hunt at Church to find the features such as the tabernacle, altar and the baptism font.

In Class One we completed the RSPB bird watch. We saw lots of different kinds of birds in our school grounds. We saw lots of pigeons and enjoyed looking through the binoculars to see them.

Diwali - Wednesday 7th October

To celebrate Diwali, we completed lots of different activities. We started the day by learning about the story of Rama and Sita with the Anna Purna dance company. It was fantastic and it really helped us to remember the story when we were retelling it later in the day. Shantha came to teach us a dance in class which was so much fun. During the afternoon we were very busy. We made Diva lamps, rangoli patterns and Diwali sweets.

Autumn 1

Skylark Nature Reserve Visit - 8.10.18

On Monday we had our first Educational Visit. We had a very busy day. We were able to explore the woods, collected leaves to make owl pictures, visited the animal hospital, made clay hedgehogs, built fairy houses, made bird feeders and even got to toast marshmallows on the campfire. We had a fantastic day and are looking forward to our next Education Visit.

Dr Scott's Visit - 5.10.18

On Friday Dr Scott (Matilda's mummy) came to visit us. She explained about our bodies and the parts of our body we use to breath and pump blood round. We learnt how to find our own pulse, and this is the blood being pumped round. She then let us use her stethoscopes. We enjoyed listening to each other's hearts beating.
