Our Buddy System

Each of our reception new starters is allocated a 'buddy' from Year 5/6.

Our older children love the responsibility of nurturing a new starter - they take great pride in playing with their reception buddy at breaktimes, sitting beside them to help with eating lunch, and reading to them in our Bookshare sessions!

Our reception children are welcomed into our St Joseph's family with a special ceremony in school, attended by their buddies and family members, and they are blessed by our parish priest.
