Our Catholic Life
Our Catholic life underpins everything we do at St Joseph's!
Our vision statement is to 'live, love and learn with the Lord', and we make sure we do this!
We meet daily as a whole school, to celebrate our faith. Our daily worship takes different forms each day.
Currently, each week, we have: virtues-based worship; singing liturgy; child-led worship; and meditation.
On a Friday, our Celebration Assembly is open to all friends and family (and our hall is normally completely packed!).
It is important to us that we show our children how to live out our gospel values.
Our school supports lots of worthy causes throughout the year. Sometimes, this will be through fundraising, and often this is through asking our children and families to donate their time to supporting others. Our recent charities have included:
Good Shepherd Appeal; Royal British Legion; Wetherby Foodbank; MacMillan Cancer Support; St Leonard's Hospice; Martin House Children's Hospice; The Dog Trust; CAFOD; Alzheimer's Society; Children in Need.
We regularly visit our local old people's home, to sing and chat to the residents and have completed Kindness Walks. This is where our children buy flowers (with their pocket money) and write kind messages and Bible quote on them. We then deliver these to passing residents in our town of Tadcaster!
