Prospective parents

We warmly welcome you to St Joseph's Catholic Primary School.

We are a Catholic school with high expectations where, in the context of a caring Christian atmosphere, our dedicated staff provide exciting and challenging learning opportunities to encourage every child to develop to his or her full potential and help them to develop social skills which will enable them to form good relationships to take full advantage of their education to equip them for their lives ahead. We are a healthy school, where swimming, sport and healthy living feature highly on our curriculum.

St Joseph’s benefits from dedicated staff and governors, supportive parents and, most importantly, fantastic children who love learning. We hope that, through this website, you will gain an insight into the life and work of St. Joseph’s. This website gives a flavour of life at St Joseph's, but visiting the school will give you a real insight to our teaching and learning and you will see how our pupils enjoy learning.  If you would like to visit us and have a tour of our school, please call 01937 832344 or email admin@st-josephs-tadcaster.n-yorks.sch.uk and we will be very happy to show you around our lovely school.

We also require the completion of a Supplementary Information Form which can be downloaded below and should be sent direct to the School Office

Supplementary Information Form

Please see the Admissions Policy 2022-23 for details of the application process, the number of places available and oversubscription criteria.

The deadline to apply is 15th January 2022. Offers of places will be made on 19th April 2022.

By law, if your child is refused a place at your preferred school, you have the right to appeal against that decision to an independent panel. School admission appeal panels are independent of the school and the local authority. At the hearing, you can present your reasons for preferring that particular school and the panel will decide whether your reasons are strong enough to overturn the admission authority's decision. Details of the appeals process and the form to submit can be found on the North Yorkshire website: Appeal for a school place | North Yorkshire County Council

JOINING IN OTHER YEAR GROUPS

In-year applications are also submitted via North Yorkshire.

Changing schools and in year applications | North Yorkshire County Council

For in-year applications the school aims to respond in writing within 10 school days and no later than 15 school days. A refusal will outline the reasons for refusal and how to appeal for a school place.
