Y3/4 Teacher - Maternity Cover

Required from December 2022, the Academy Council is looking to appoint an experienced, talented, motivational and inspiring classroom teacher to cover a period of maternity leave.

The successful candidate will;

  • support the Catholic ethos of our school
  • be a good to outstanding practitioner, able to motivate children
  • be innovative, creative, forward thinking and work collaboratively within our team
  • have high expectations of children of all groups and abilities
  • engage and motivate children to learn
  • be cheerful and friendly and build positive relationships with children, staff and parents
  • be committed to children’s welfare and safeguarding;
  • have a fair, positive and calm approach to ensure pupils meet high expectations of excellent behaviour

St Joseph’s is a small, family-orientated voluntary aided Catholic Primary School.  It is part of the Bishop Wheeler Catholic Academy Trust which consists of two high schools and 11 primary schools.  The October 2017 Diocesan Section 48 inspection and January 2017 Ofsted inspection judged St Joseph’s as a good school.

Job description

Administrative Assistant

  • Permanent and Term Time Only plus 5 additional days
  • Administrative Assistant - 8 hours per week, Thursday 1.00pm to 3.30pm and Friday 9.00am to 3.30pm
  • Lunchtime Supervisory Role – 0.5 hours per week
  • NJC Grade A1/A3, SCP 1- 4 £18,333 - £19,264 (actual salary £3,614 - £3,798 per annum)

Required for an immediate start, the Academy Council is looking to appoint, a friendly, enthusiastic, flexible administrator to join our growing school.  The successful candidate will be an effective and welcoming first point of contact for the school.  You will have a calm, courteous, professional and friendly approach along with the ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and work effectively as an individual and as part of a team in our busy school office.  You will have good word processing skills, be well organised with high levels of interpersonal skills, providing support to staff, assisting in the daily office needs and managing our schools’ general administrative activities.

We are looking for an Administrative Assistant who will:

  • Be highly skilled in Microsoft Office, using a computer and excellent keyboard skills.
  • Have a knowledge / experience of school management systems, personnel administration, pupil data and ParentPay.
  • Use effective communication and be warm, friendly and empathetic.
  • Have experience of working in an office environment.
  • Undertake general financial admin e.g. processing orders / invoices / cash handling.
  • Be supportive of the Catholic ethos of the school.
